"The primary purpose of this Convention is to enable every sincere individual to personally experience religious benefits; They may enhance their knowledge and - due to their being blessed and enabled by Allah, The Exalted - their perception [of Allah] may progress. Among its secondary benefits is that this congregational meeting together will promote mutual introduction among all brothers, and it will strengthen the fraternal ties within this Community..."

About Our Annual Convention

Unity Amidst Diversity

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, under the leadership of its holy founder, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, held its first convention on December 27, 1891 in Qadian, India. Approximately 75 people attended the event.

For over a century since then, the community has held its Annual Convention, or Jalsa Salana, in numerous countries around the world. Tens of thousands of community members gather at these conventions at various times throughout the year. The principle aims of the Annual Convention are to facilitate greater spiritual awareness among community members, strengthen community ties and promote peace.

No Ordinary Convention

Ahmad emphasized the vital importance of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Annual Convention: "You must not rank this convention in the same league as other ordinary human assemblies." The Annual Convention of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA attracts thousands of members and hundreds of community leaders and media representatives from across the country. The weekend event includes religious discourses, inter-faith sessions, and special community initiatives.
